St Oswald, King of Northumbria
The sculpture of St Oswald was commissioned by a private client, and supported by the Trusted Art Guide. It was created using a variety of resins, mediums and materials, including found objects, linen and hessian. St Oswald is the Patron Saint of Northumbria, and is often depicted planting his cross into the soil of a field of combat, shortly before successfully going into battle. He was King of Northumbria fro 634 until his death in 642. He is buried in Durham Cathedral.
