LOCKDOWN FRAGMENTS
After a bizarre and life-changing year of Covid 19 Sophie made 'Lockdown Fragments‘ as her contribution to the British Society of Master Glass Painters' Centenary exhibition.
It was inspired by the west window of Winchester Cathedral, which was smashed by parliamentarians during the Civil War. The fragments were gathered up by the townspeople of the city, and a new window created.

Her panel imagines another window that has been smashed by the chaos of the pandemic, with the fragments gathered up and remade. It's full of now-familiar symbols, from bottles of hand-sanitiser, the vaccine cards, zoom, facemasks and depictions of the virus.
